2. Check eligibility for child-raising leave and the child-raising allowance, and submit the application with the required income history.

When?

Within the statutory deadlines calculated from the end of maternity leave or from the birth, as applicable.

Where / who?

Town hall/territorial AJPIS agency and employer, according to the local administrative route.

What to prepare?

The child’s and parents’ documents, income records, proof of suspension of activity and payment account.

What to check?

Maternity leave and child-raising leave are separate entitlements.

3. Apply for the state child allowance if the local process does not start it automatically, and check the beneficiary and payment details.

When?

After the birth certificate is issued, within the period that preserves retroactive payment where applicable.

Where / who?

Town hall/AJPIS or the official service designated locally.

What to prepare?

Birth certificate, representative’s documents, application and bank account.

What to check?

The state child allowance is separate from the child-raising allowance and may follow a different administrative route.

4. Check whether your locality offers a newborn incentive, baby package or other support, and apply only if you meet the local conditions.

When?

Within the deadline set by the local decision.

Where / who?

Town hall/social service for your domicile.

What to prepare?

Proof of domicile, the child’s certificate, income details or other evidence required locally.

What to check?

These benefits are not available uniformly in all localities; they must be treated as local and variable.

5. Tell your employer which leave you are taking, the suspension period and your expected return date, and submit the documents required for protection/benefit purposes.

When?

Before the leave begins and whenever the period changes.

Where / who?

Employer/personnel file and the institution paying the benefit.

What to prepare?

Application, birth certificate, benefit decision and dates of the leave period.

What to check?

Payment of the allowance does not automatically change the employment contract without the required documents.
