1. Apply for a temporary identity card if you are in a situation in which it may be issued under the official procedure.
When?
When you fall into one of the cases covered by the procedure: for example, you cannot provide all documents required for a CEI/CIS, biometric data cannot temporarily be collected, or you are a Romanian citizen domiciled abroad who is living temporarily in Romania.
Where / who?
The competent public community service for population records.
What to prepare?
The documents you hold proving your name, civil status, citizenship and domicile, 2 photographs measuring 3×4 cm with a 7 mm white strip, and proof of payment, as required by the official service.
What to check?
The temporary identity card is valid for no more than 1 year. The fee stated by the MAI service is 1 RON.
