3 tasks in suggested order
1. Determine the basis for staying more than 3 months (employment, self-employment, studies, or sufficient resources and insurance).
Before submitting the residence application.
IGI / the documents are issued by the employer, educational institution, etc.
A valid identity document and the documents corresponding to the purpose of stay.

2. Register your residence if you will stay in Romania for more than 3 months.
If you intend to stay in Romania for more than 3 months, register your residence with the territorial Inspectoratul General pentru Imigrări (IGI) unit in the county where you live.

Identity document and documents specific to the purpose of stay.
For an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen, the registration certificate is issued on the same day and is valid for up to 5 years, but for at least 1 year.

3. Provide proof of accommodation when it is required for your type of registration.
When submitting the application, if required for your situation.
