If you have a Hungarian Social Security ID (TAJ) and become insured in an EEA country, Switzerland, a country covered by an agreement, or under the system of a relevant international organisation, report both the start and the end of the foreign insurance to the competent government office within 15 days.
When?
Within 15 days of the establishment or termination of the foreign insurance coverage.
Where / who?
The government office responsible for health insurance matters in your area of residence; electronic forms are also available.
What to prepare?
Notification form regarding foreign insurance and data/documents proving eligibility.
What to check?
Your Hungarian social security number (TAJ) may be temporarily invalidated for the duration of the reported foreign insurance coverage; the EU health insurance card previously issued based on Hungarian insurance must not be used in such cases.
