2. Apply for a registration certificate if staying in Hungary for more than 90 days within a 180-day period.

Competent regional OIF directorate based on place of residence or Enter Hungary.

Travel document/identity card and proof of residency requirements.

What to check?

The application may be submitted in person or via available electronic channels.

3. Report your initial place of residence in Hungary as part of the same procedure.

When?

When applying for the registration certificate for the first time.

Where / who?

OIF.

What to prepare?

Lease agreement, proof of ownership, or other credible document proving the right to reside.

What to check?

The registry authority issues and mails the address card based on notification from the OIF.

4. Keep the received registration certificate and the official document proving your address together.

When?

From the time of receiving the documents.

Where / who?

There is no specific submission location.

What to prepare?

Registration certificate and address card.

What to check?

Any subsequent change of address must be reported to the district office with jurisdiction over the new place of residence. (official Hungarian name: járási hivatal)
