I have imported a vehicle from abroad and need to obtain approval for its technical roadworthiness.
2 tasks in suggested order
1. Have the vehicle inspected and apply for approval of the imported vehicle's technical roadworthiness, if this step is required based on its origin.
After importation, prior to regular operation and registration in the Czech Republic.
Technical inspection station/testing facility, followed by the municipal authority of a municipality with extended powers.
Documents regarding the vehicle's technical roadworthiness and origin, technical inspection report, and other attachments depending on the specific vehicle.
The procedure varies depending on the country of origin and whether the vehicle has already been registered in the EU.

2. After technical approval, complete registration in the road vehicle register.
After final approval and before normal operation in Czechia.
Any municipality with extended powers / Transport Portal where the service is available.
Approval decision, foreign registration/technical documents, proof of acquisition, insurance and other required attachments.
Technical approval and registration are two consecutive but separate procedures.
