1. Apply for a study grant
Study grant (Studienbeihilfe) is applied for through the Study Grant Authority. Entitlement and amount depend, among other things, on social eligibility and academic progress.
Winter semester: 20 September to 15 December. Summer semester: 20 February to 15 May. Applications submitted outside these periods are accepted, but generally take effect only from the month of application and not retroactively from the start of the semester.
