Anyone who has completed general compulsory schooling, is under 18 and is permanently resident in Austria must generally continue in education or training.
The education or training obligation applies after general compulsory schooling until the 18th birthday or until successful completion of further education or training.
Depending on the chosen route, at a school, apprenticeship employer or other recognised education/training provider; the AusBildung bis 18 coordination offices and other official services provide advice and support.
Documents on the previous school and training history for the chosen education/training route or for counselling.
The education or training obligation is established by law; as a last resort, a breach can result in an administrative fine.
