4 tasks in suggested order
1. Submit a request for a study interruption to the school and check the conditions, start date, maximum duration, and return procedures as outlined in the study regulations.
Before the requested start date of the interruption and within the school's deadline.
The study department/faculty of your higher education institution.
The application and supporting documents regarding the reason for the interruption, if required by the school.
An interruption does not occur simply by stopping class attendance; the school's official decision is what matters.

2. Once the suspension begins, verify who pays your health insurance and notify the insurance company of the change if they do not receive the information automatically.
From the date of the suspension or the change in insurance status.
Your health insurance company.
The school's decision/confirmation and proof of other status—such as employment or registration with the labor office.
During the suspension, you may not be considered a student for the purposes of all regulations.

3. Notify the payer of your scholarship or benefit about the suspension if it could affect your eligibility, and request a re-assessment.
Immediately after the school's decision, if you are receiving a benefit or scholarship.
The university, the Labour Office (ÚPSVaR), the Social Insurance Agency, or another payer, depending on the specific type of support.
The decision regarding the suspension and details about the benefit/scholarship.
Not all forms of support continue automatically during a suspension.

4. If you live in a dormitory or use services tied to student status, verify whether they will continue or terminate them properly.
Before the suspension or immediately after the school's decision.

Suspending your studies does not necessarily terminate your accommodation or other contracts.
