1. Check whether the child is starting compulsory schooling and which school is the catchment school for the residence.

A catchment school does not prevent applying elsewhere, but admission outside the catchment depends on capacity and school rules.

2. Apply/enrol using the method and deadline set by the school and provide the required information.
Within the enrolment period published by the school and founder.

Documents and details of the child and legal representative under the current rules.
Deferral, continuation of compulsory pre-primary education or special needs follow separate routes.

3. If the child comes from abroad, prepare prior-schooling documents and arrange placement in the appropriate year.
Before starting school or as soon as possible after moving.
Selected school; another education authority where needed.
School reports, study certificates and translations where needed.
The school may need to assess prior education and language support; do not assume placement solely by age.
