Terminating university studies without graduating

1. Submit a written notice or request to the school based on the reason for termination and obtain confirmation of the date and method of termination.
Before your planned departure or as soon as possible after deciding to leave.

Simply stopping attendance does not necessarily terminate your studies on the date you anticipate.

2. Return books, your ID card, keys, or equipment, and settle any outstanding obligations regarding the dormitory or other school matters.

The library, dormitory, and other relevant departments of your school.
Student ID card and records of borrowed items or outstanding payments.
Unsettled obligations may complicate the issuance of certificates and any future return.

3. Verify who is responsible for your health insurance payments starting from the date your studies end; if you are not working, consider registering with the Labour Office or arranging another insurance status.
Immediately after your student status ends.
Health insurance company and, depending on the situation, the Labour Office (ÚPSVaR) or your employer.
Confirmation of the completion of studies and proof of your subsequent status.
Registration with the Labour Office is voluntary, but inaction may result in an obligation to pay health insurance premiums yourself.

4. If you receive a scholarship or a study-related benefit, notify the relevant paying authority that your studies have ended.
Without delay after your studies end.
University, Labour Office (ÚPSVaR), Social Insurance Agency, or other paying authority.
Confirmation of the completion date and details regarding the benefit.
Repayment of an overpayment may be required if the change is not reported on time.
