I have an education from abroad and need it recognized in Slovakia.
3 tasks in suggested order
1. First determine the purpose of recognition: further study, general academic use or access to a regulated profession.
Before applying.
Official navigator of the Centre for Recognition of Diplomas.
Country, school, type of document and the purpose for which you want to use it in Slovakia.
If the profession is not regulated, professional recognition may not be required; academic and professional recognition are different routes.

2. Use the navigator result to identify the competent authority: ministry/centre, university or authority for the specific regulated profession.
After determining the recognition purpose.
Competent authority shown in the official navigator or regulated-professions database.
Name of the qualification and profession you want to practise.
The competent authority can vary by education level and profession; do not automatically send every application to one central office.

3. Submit the application with the documents required for your route and check whether certified translation, apostille or superlegalisation is needed.
After identifying the correct route and authority.
Electronically or on paper according to the competent authority’s service.
Diploma/certificate, supplement or transcript and any other documents required for the specific service.
Documents from third countries may require additional legalisation; requirements vary by country and procedure.
