1. Before signing, check the legal status of the property, title deed, encumbrances and purchase contract.

2. After signing, file the application to register ownership in the Land Registry and follow the proceeding.
After signing and satisfying the conditions of the chosen financing arrangement.
Competent district-office cadastral department or electronic service.
Purchase contract and application for registration with the required attachments.
Ownership does not pass merely by signing the contract; registration in the Land Registry is decisive.

3. After the transfer, take over the property with a handover record, note meter readings and arrange the manager, utilities and services.
At physical handover of the property.
Seller, building manager/owners’ association and utility/service providers.
Handover record, keys, meter readings and service contracts.
Handover and utility transfers are not automatic parts of the Land Registry proceeding.

4. Check property tax, municipal waste duties and, if needed, register permanent or temporary residence.
After acquiring ownership and according to the deadlines of the municipality/city.
Municipality/city where the property is located; residence is handled by the relevant registry office.
Property-acquisition details and information on persons who will live there.
Local taxes and fees have their own deadlines; do not assume one nationwide deadline.
