1. Schedule a date at the Civil Registry Office (USC), submit the required declarations and documents, and then get married before the Registrar or another authorized person.
When?
As a rule, the marriage may take place after 1 month has passed from submitting the declarations that there are no impediments to marriage. The declaration is valid for 6 months; in special cases, the head of the civil registry office may shorten the waiting period.
Where / who?
Any civil registry office (USC); on request, also outside the USC if the chosen venue meets the statutory conditions.
What to prepare?
Identity documents and additional documents depending on citizenship and marital status.
What to check?
The mandatory stamp duty for drawing up the marriage certificate is PLN 84. A marriage outside the USC at the couple’s request carries an additional PLN 1000 fee, subject to the exceptions stated in the official service.
