A car may be tested up to 90 days before its NCT due date without changing the expiry date of the new certificate. A test more than 90 days early is treated as a voluntary early test, so the new certificate runs for 1 or 2 years from the date of the successful test depending on vehicle age.
When?
A vehicle can be tested up to 90 days before the due date without changing the new certificate expiry date under the official rule.
