Book before the due date. Testing up to 90 days early preserves the existing expiry date; more than 90 days early is a voluntary early test.

National Car Testing Service (NCTS).

Bring the vehicle registration book/certificate or licensing certificate, identification for the person presenting the vehicle, and prepare the vehicle as required by NCTS.

A retest must be booked within 21 days of the initial test and completed within 30 days, otherwise a full test must be repeated. Cancellation/rearrangement with less than 5 working days’ notice or no-show can incur a fee.
