Child Benefit is €140 per month for each child in 2026. Use the Department of Social Protection claim route; after some Irish birth registrations, MyWelfare may contact you automatically.
When?
After birth/when child enters the family, follow the automatic invitation or claim route that applies.

Department of Social Protection / MyWelfare Child Benefit service.
What to prepare?
PPSNs, child/birth details and bank/payment details as requested.
What to check?
Twins are paid at one and a half times the normal monthly rate for each child; other multiple births are paid at double the normal monthly rate for each child. Do not duplicate an automated process if DSP has already contacted you.
