3 tasks in suggested order
1. First identify the exact purpose of long-term residence, because study, family, employment and other purposes have different conditions.
Before collecting documents and booking an appointment.

2. Submit an application for a long-term residence permit for the relevant purpose.
Depends on the type of residence; generally no later than the last day of validity of the current residence permit if applying from within the territory.

Form, travel document, proof of accommodation, proof of financial resources, health insurance, photographs, and proof of the purpose of stay.

3. After approval, complete the steps stated in the decision—typically biometrics and collection of a residence card where applicable.
After receiving approval information, within the deadlines set by the Ministry of the Interior.
