My child was born in the Czech Republic, and both parents are third-country nationals.
3 tasks in suggested order
1. Determine which residence permit or visa to apply for based on the parents’ residence status.
As soon as possible after birth; the child may stay without an additional permit for no more than 60 days.

Residence documents of both parents, the child’s birth certificate and travel document once available.
If at least one parent has permanent residence, permanent residence is requested for the child; long-term residence, long-term visa or short-stay visa lead to the corresponding route.

2. At the same time arrange the child’s health insurance; the regime varies with the parents’ status and the type of application.
Immediately after birth because some notification deadlines are short.

Birth certificate, parents’ documents, proof of the residence application and other documents required for the insurance type.
For example, where the mother holds long-term residence, the child may remain in public health insurance during proceedings if conditions are met; in other cases comprehensive commercial insurance may be needed.

3. If the child is to remain in the Czech Republic for more than 60 days, apply for the appropriate visa or residence permit for them.
No later than 60 days after the child's birth.

The type of residence status for the child depends, among other things, on the parents' residence permit.
