1. Choose a gynecologist and attend recommended prenatal check-ups; verify which care is covered by your insurance.

2. If the work poses a risk, or if you require employment protection or work adjustments, inform your employer and provide the necessary documentation.
Whenever necessary for safety, transfer to different work, or the exercise of rights.

A medical certificate covering the scope required for specific work-related measures.
You do not need to disclose your pregnancy to all colleagues; however, the employer must be aware of facts necessary for health protection and the processing of entitlements.

3. Check the conditions for maternity allowance and have the application submitted electronically by your doctor; the employee then provides the application identifier to the employer.
During the period prior to the expected due date, as specified by the benefit regulations.
Attending gynecologist, employer, and the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ); self-employed persons follow procedures based on their own insurance.

4. Choose a maternity hospital, find out its registration and admission procedures, and prepare the necessary documents and contact information for the delivery.
In advance, in accordance with the chosen maternity hospital's rules.

Pregnancy record book, proof of identity and insurance, and documents required by the maternity hospital.
Maternity hospitals are healthcare providers and may have different organizational procedures; they are not local authorities assigned based on postal codes.

5. If the parents are unmarried and wish to establish paternity via a joint declaration prior to the birth, make an appointment at the registry office and submit the required documents.
This can be arranged before the birth if the conditions are met; otherwise, it is done after the birth.
Any competent registry office or court, in cases that cannot be resolved via a joint declaration.
Proof of identity, birth certificates, and other civil registry documents, depending on individual circumstances.
Additional documents and verifications may be required for foreign documents or specific family circumstances.
