I am moving from the Czech Republic abroad for the long term
6 tasks in suggested order
1. Decide whether you are merely changing your delivery address or terminating your permanent residence in the Czech Republic; if terminating residence, follow the appropriate procedure.
Before departure or without undue delay, depending on the chosen procedure.
The relevant registry office; depending on the specific service, the delivery address may also be changed via other official channels.
Proof of identity, details of your current address, and any documentation required for the chosen procedure.
Moving abroad does not automatically cancel Czech citizenship or, in every case, permanent residence. Do not cancel your residence if you simply want a different address for mail delivery.

2. Notify your health insurance company of any facts altering your participation in the Czech public health insurance system, and request confirmation regarding the termination or continuation of coverage.
Before obtaining foreign insurance or immediately after the change occurs, depending on the reason for departure.
Your Czech health insurance company; handle foreign registration with the relevant institution in the destination country.
Proof of identity, date of departure, and documents regarding work, study, insurance, or residence in the destination country.
A foreign address alone does not determine which state has jurisdiction. Coordination rules apply in cases of cross-border employment and family situations.

3. If you are receiving a benefit, are registered with the Labour Office, or have a pending case with the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ), notify the relevant institution of your departure and foreign contact address.
Before departure or immediately after the change occurs—specifically before the next benefit payment.
Labour Office of the Czech Republic (Úřad práce ČR), the relevant social-security authority or your employer, depending on the situation.
Identification details, date of departure, foreign address, and information regarding the benefit, registration status, or employment.
Each benefit has its own rules regarding stays abroad; you cannot assume that payment will continue automatically.

4. Assess your tax residency status for the year of the move and update your registration or delivery details if you have obligations to the Czech tax authorities.
When relevant details change and before the deadline for the applicable tax filing.
Tax authorities; a qualified tax advisor for complex cross-border cases. (official Czech name: Finanční správa)
Residency details, Czech and foreign income, and proof of family and economic ties as well as taxes paid.
Permanent residence status or the date of departure do not always determine tax residency on their own.

5. If permanently moving the vehicle, verify export, registration, and insurance requirements in both countries; if it remains in the Czech registry, update the necessary details.
Before using the vehicle permanently in the destination country.
Road Vehicle Registry, your insurance company, and the registration authority of the destination country.
Vehicle documents, proof of identity, proof of ownership, insurance, and documents required by the destination country.
Deregistering a person and exporting a vehicle are two separate processes.

6. Terminate or transfer lease, utility, internet, and other contracts, and set up mail forwarding or an alternative method for receiving mail.
In advance, in accordance with notice periods and prior to handing over the property.
The landlord, individual service providers, and Czech Post. (official Czech name: Česká pošta)
Contracts, customer numbers, meter readings, the handover protocol, and the new delivery address.
Mail forwarding does not replace directly updating your address with authorities, banks, insurance companies, and contractual partners.
