1. Document the sale and handover clearly
When selling the vehicle, it should be clearly documented when the vehicle and documents were handed over and who will complete the deregistration or re-registration.

2. Deregister the vehicle at an authorised registration office
If the vehicle is sold and the previous registered holder is no longer the lawful possessor, the vehicle must be deregistered.
In connection with the sale, so that the previous registration does not continue unnecessarily.
At a registration office operated by an insurance company.
Official photo ID, registration certificate, approval document, number plates and, where applicable, power of attorney.
Vehicle deregistration is free of charge. A power of attorney is required if someone acts on your behalf.

3. Take the number plates and registration documents with you for deregistration
For deregistration, the number plates, both parts of the registration certificate and the appropriate approval document must in particular be presented.

Number plates, registration certificate Parts I and II, approval certificate/document and proof of identity.
If one part of the registration certificate cannot be presented, the reason must be explained to the registration office.
