2. Replace a lost, stolen or destroyed Northern Ireland driving licence
If applicable: If your driving licence was issued in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland driving licences use the Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) replacement process. You can normally apply online; a postal DL1/DL2 route is also available where required.
Apply when one or both parts of a valid Northern Ireland licence are lost, stolen or destroyed.
DVA through nidirect for Northern Ireland.
A valid email address and payment method for the online route; NI licence number/expiry date if known. Postal applications use the appropriate DL1/DL2 form and any remaining licence part.
A replacement is an identical replacement, not an upgrade or renewal. If a cancelled licence is later found, it must not be used.
