1. Check which primary school serves your registered address. You may choose another school, but its admission rules may be different.
Before the enrollment period.
Information from the school district/public education authority and the selected school.
The child's residential address and the school's catchment area details.
For the 2026/2027 school year, a child is of compulsory school age if they turn 6 by 31 August 2026, unless they are lawfully remaining in kindergarten for one additional educational year.

2. Enrol your child for the 2026/2027 school year on the officially announced enrolment days.
23–24 April 2026.
Catchment-area or chosen primary school, or the supported electronic system.
Documents of the child and parent, address card, and declarations requested by the school.
The catchment school must admit a compulsory-school-age child living in its catchment area; if you choose another school, that school’s admission decision applies.

3. Submit the child's previous academic, medical, and identification documents, especially when arriving from abroad or changing schools.
At the time of enrollment or upon the school's request.
The school administration office.
Report cards, translations, social security (TAJ) card, education ID number, and other requested documents.
Submit only the documents relevant to the child's specific situation.

4. In cases of special educational needs or other support requirements, submit the expert opinion and arrange for the appropriate services.
Before the start of the school year or after receiving the expert opinion.
School, pedagogical specialist service, and the maintaining authority, depending on the type of support.
Expert opinion and the required application forms.
The provision of support does not always commence based solely on verbal notification.
