1. Register as a jobseeker if you are unemployed and looking for work. Registration is also a prerequisite for jobseeker's allowance (álláskeresési járadék).
When?
After your employment ends, when you are looking for work.
Where / who?
At the employment department of the district or capital city district office competent for your place of residence or stay. (official Hungarian name: foglalkoztatási osztály)
What to prepare?
Proof of identity and employment details; the office will indicate any additional documents required for the procedure.
What to check?
After registration, you gain access to job offers, counseling, and certain forms of support.
