1. Clarify the legal type of the property and whether your citizenship or legal status means that a property-acquisition permit from the government office is required.

2. Have a legal representative check ownership, encumbrances and the contract terms, then prepare or countersign the property purchase deed.

Land-registry extract/property details, parties’ details and agreed terms.
Registration of ownership requires a document in the prescribed form and a land-registry procedure.

3. If your category requires it, submit the property-acquisition permit application to the government office responsible for the property’s location.
Before completion of the acquisition in the Land Registry, in the sequence required by the specific procedure.

4. Through your legal representative, start the land-registry registration of ownership.
When the purchase and any permit conditions are fulfilled.

A deed suitable for registration and the required attachments.
Registration of ownership is a separate legal step and is not the same as the foreigner's property-acquisition permit.

5. Based on the NAV notification/procedure, settle the property-acquisition duty and check whether an allowance or exemption applies.
After the acquisition is reported and NAV starts its procedure.
National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV).
