4 tasks in suggested order
1. First determine the correct employment and residence route: confirmation that the vacancy may be filled, a separate work permit, a statutory exemption or a special regime.

2. The employer completes the required Labour Office step for the chosen route, for example notifying a vacancy, requesting a confirmation or fulfilling another statutory notification duty.

3. If your case requires temporary residence for employment, submit the application using the method specified for your case and provide the required documents.
Before performing the work or as required by the specific residence route.
Abroad: the Slovak embassy/consulate accredited for the state that issued the travel document or for the state of residence; in Slovakia: a police department only where the law permits an in-country application.
Travel document and evidence of the purpose of stay and employment according to the current official procedure.
A job offer alone does not automatically create a right to work or reside; the exact route depends on the person's status and the work.

4. After approval and arrival, complete the follow-up obligations that apply to you and continue with the existing checklists for health insurance, address registration and other registrations.
