Moving to a different address in Poland
6 tasks in suggested order
1. Register your new address if the meldunek obligation applies to your situation; when making the new registration, you can also deregister from your previous address at the same time.
The deadline depends on your status and type of stay. For a non-EU/EFTA national who is not a family member of an EU/EFTA citizen, registration is generally required no later than the 4th day after moving in; for an EU/EFTA citizen and their family member, no later than the 30th day.
At the municipal office competent for the new address; some people can use the online service if they meet the conditions on gov.pl.
Identity document and proof of legal right to the premises (e.g., title deed, lease) or confirmation from the owner.
Moving house does not automatically change your registered address; registration is also not the same as ownership or tenancy rights.

2. Check which institutions and companies still have your old address and update it where necessary.
After moving, first in matters where the address affects delivery of official correspondence, a benefit, or a contract.
With the specific institutions and companies whose services you use.
New address, ID document, and case or document numbers.
Do not assume that a single address update automatically notifies all government offices, banks, and service providers.
3. If the address change affects data in your vehicle documents or the vehicle register, report it to the competent authority; also inform your insurer if required by the contract or policy details.
After the address change, within the deadline that applies to the specific data change and insurance policy.
With the competent vehicle registration authority and your insurer.
Vehicle registration certificate, ID document, insurance policy, and proof of new address (if required).
Updating personal details does not always automatically update your insurance policy or other vehicle-related permits.

4. If you receive benefits, have a case with the employment office, or your employer needs your current address, check whether you must report the change.
After the address change, according to the rules for the specific case or benefit.
With your employer, the employment office, ZUS, or another competent benefit payer.
New address and employee, insurance, or case number.
Each benefit comes with its own notification requirement; simply updating your registered address may not be enough.
5. Transfer, start, or terminate contracts for electricity, gas, water, heating, internet, and other household services.
Before handing over the old property and when taking over the new one, according to the terms of your contracts.
With the property manager, owner, and the individual utility providers.
Supply point and customer numbers, meter readings, handover protocols, and dates of change.
Determine the parties to each agreement to avoid duplicate contracts or gaps in service.
6. If useful, arrange mail forwarding and update your address with banks, insurers, subscriptions, and your other private contracts.
During the move, according to the terms of each service and contract.
With the postal operator and each service provider affected by the change.
Old and new addresses, proof of identity, and contract numbers.
Mail forwarding does not replace updating your address with the sender.
