1. Move abroad: check social welfare payment
Before a permanent or semi-permanent move abroad, contact the Department of Social Protection for every payment you receive. Some payments can continue abroad and others cannot; DSP requires you to notify a permanent or semi-permanent absence and provide a contact address abroad.
Before travel or moving abroad, check whether the specific social welfare payment can continue and what must be reported.

Travel/departure dates, destination, payment details and continuing eligibility evidence.
Do not assume payment into an Irish bank account means the payment remains payable abroad. The underlying scheme rules still apply.
