Child benefit may continue after school or vocational training ends, for example during a transition period of up to 4 months, during further education/training, or while a documented search for a training place or university place is ongoing.
Inform the Familienkasse early about your status after school or training ends and submit any evidence it requests.

Depending on the case, proof of school completion, vocational training or study, or evidence that you are looking for a training place or university place.
If you start a second vocational training programme or study after completing initial training, paid work may be relevant; as a rule, a limit of 20 hours per week applies unless an exempt form of work applies.
