After a move, the vehicle keeper and address data must be updated. Whether only the address is changed or re-registration with a new registration authority is required depends on the move and the registration district.
Address or keeper changes must be reported without unnecessary delay; check the procedure that applies to your new place of residence.
Locally competent Kfz-Zulassungsbehörde.
Vehicle documents, insurance confirmation, identity and, depending on the procedure, further evidence.
A move within the same registration district can involve a simpler procedure than a change to another district. Do not automatically select “new registration”; choose the move/re-registration procedure.
