1. Register to vote again after changing your name
If you live in the UK and change your name, update the electoral register by registering again with your new details. The online register-to-vote service is UK-wide.
After the name change, and early enough before an election to meet the registration deadline if you want to vote.
Online register-to-vote service. England/Scotland/Wales use the local Electoral Registration Office for paper/help routes; Northern Ireland uses the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland (EONI).
New name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number if available and any identity evidence requested if automatic checks do not match.
Northern Ireland has a different paper form and EONI administration, but the online service can be used to update the name. Registering again replaces the old details.
