3. Register the death within 3 months; if more than 12 months have passed, written Superintendent Registrar consent is required

Section 37 of the Civil Registration Act sets the duty to provide the required death particulars within 3 months. Section 40 requires written Superintendent Registrar consent for registration more than 12 months after the death.
